How to Astral Travel: Want to have your first out of body experience?

Perhaps you’ve recently heard of Astral Travel and are interested in it . Another word for the practice is Astral Projection. This newbie’s guide will touch on the history, and ins and outs of the art.

What is the meaning of “out of body experience”? Astral Travel is purposely separating your “consciousness”, or soul, from your physical body. Once the separation has occurred the traveler may move about freely without his or her body. One of the common things many individuals report is being able to see their body lying below.

With the proper knowledge, techniques, and practice the separation can be achieved by almost everyone. It involves some easy to follow steps and practice in order to master. Before the first attempt it is a very good idea to find a good and reliable Astral Projection Guide.

Once a person learns how to Astral Travel, they are free from the physical constraints of the body and usually come away from the experience with great calmness and personal insights.

The art has an extremely long history

Records of Astral Travel is not new, in fact according to historical records people have been experiencing this for up to 5,000 years now.  There are mentions of Astral Travel as far back as Ancient Egypt.. Drawings from the time period, usually illustrate it as glowing light leaving the body.

Astral Travel is also referenced extensively in Shamanism. It is said that Shamans think the practice enables them to seek assistance from higher powers. Many other religions throughout history have also referenced Astral Travel.

Usually, without full understanding and instruction Astral Travel is quite difficult to achieve, unless you nearly die, as many instances of Astral Travel occur spontaneously as a result of near death experiences.

There are many methods to achieve Astral Travel. A blog post really isn’t enough to go into all of the ins and outs you’d really want have an understanding of before you truly achieve Astral Travel.

Here we will discuss the most basic of steps a person might successfully follow in their quest to discover how to do Astral Travel.

Astral Travel Step 1. Find a good place

Find a very relaxing and quiet place for your attempt.

The area should be comfortable and quiet, and of course you should ensure nothing will interrupt you.

You should have on very comfortable or no clothes and the area should be darkened

As lying down is the most common position, a bed is recommended.

Astral Travel Step 2. Get relaxed

Achieve very deep relaxation

You want to practice meditation-like deep breathing until you are on the very edge of sleep.

Breathe slowly and deeply, in through your nose and out through your mouth. As you do so, concentrate on breathing from your belly not your chest. As you do this your heart rate will slow.

Next, start at the feet and slowly,…body part by body part, relax. Slowly over the course of say 5-10 minutes relax yourself from “toe to head”.

If you do this correctly, you will find that you are very deeply relaxed and near sleep, but still conscious.

Astral Travel Step 3. Begin Vibration Phase

Once you are in a deep state of relaxation, begin to imagine the most faint of vibrations emanating from your body. As you begin to sense the vibrations focus on them.

Through increased focus on them you will be able to enhance them. They can start to come in waves, so don’t freak out during this part of the experience. If you become concerned you will exit the stage. This is where some people will stall and not make it to the next phase if they are not fully familiar with the process.

Astral Travel Step 4. Begin to Separate the Body and Soul

This is it! At this stage you can begin to “imagine yourself outside your body”

Envision the space you are in and image coming UP and out of it. This takes some real mastery.

Astral Travel Step 5. Separate completely from the body and begin movement.

At this point if all has gone well you will feel yourself existing and operating outside the body. It’s an amazing sensation and something that usually changes a person permanently for the better. It is very common to report calmness and deep insights into ones inner Spiritual Being.

Astral Travel Step 6. Return to the body.

Generally this involves just thinking or “imagining” that you are in fact in your body again.

Returning to the body “too soon” is very common. Don’t worry, there is no special trick you need to know in order to “put yourself back together again”. Many people report the awesome sensation of full separation only to “snap back in” on accident when they really wanted to continue the experience longer!

Some Tips:

It is recommended that you keep a journal near you during the process and when you awaken from the experience, you instantly write down your experiences. This serves two purposes. It will prevent you from forgetting your experiences.

This is a worry for some and knowing that you can rest without trying to remember every detail of the experience is freeing and allows one to more fully relax afterward. It will also be invaluable in the future to look back upon.
